Accelerating Your Upload
You have some control over how quickly your resume is uploaded and how much space it takes. If you are using MS Word as your word processor, the most important step you can take to improve the speed at which your resume is copied to the web and th amount of space it needs is to uncheck the Save preview picture box. On average, this can reduce the size of your resume by a factor of 20. To clarify, a resume that is over 1 MB in size will be less than 50 KB if this box is unchecked. This is because graphics place much more of a demand on computer resources than text. When MS Word, saves a preview picture of your resume it creates a bitmap that resides in the resume. This places a huge demand on your resources and the space your resume needs. The JobTabs word processor does not impose these demands on your system so you need not be concerned with this consideration.
