Job Searching on the Internet

If you are just beginning a job search for the first time in a while, you would be well advised to start your job search with publicly posted jobs rather than tapping immediately into your personal network.  As in any new challenge, you should be prepared to make a few mistakes here and there.  It would be better to make those mistakes with people you've never met rather than your valuable, but limited, networking contacts.  Develop the skills you need to sell yourself first and then move into the opportunity laden pool of professional networking.
